This CD is a compilation of my Progressive Rock compositions, written during my participation in the "Inspired Compositions" project on Audiofanzine between 2017 and 2018. The title "Atmospheric" reflects the fact that these compositions were inspired by images, and the music captures the musical atmosphere they evoked. Now it's your turn to imagine your own film.

  02- Dark Valley.  La vallée obscure To listen

 03- Lights dance floor. Les lumières du dance floor. To listen  

I saw in this image a man who could dance on a dance floor of lights. According to two people on AF, this title reminds them a bit of Jean-Michel Jarre. Why not?

04-Cathedral of Heavenly Light:  Cathédrale de lumière céleste. To listen 

For those who listened to "Light Dance Floor," here's another version I prepared, still using the same image but filmed from a distance. It's the same intro, the same melody, the same structure, but in a completely different style. It's more in the style of late 70s Alan Parsons, but with an added guitar solo.

05-A subway called happiness: Un métro nommé bonheur. To listen 

JI saw a man alone in a tunnel, lost in thought, glancing to his left at the arrival of something. Then the "something" entered the tunnel, moved slowly forward, drew near; it was the subway named happiness. It slowed down but didn't stop. You had to run alongside it, trying to grab a handle, a bar, a hand?! Hold on tight, don't let go if you wanted to get out of the tunnel and discover happiness.

  06- Brain attack:  Attaque cerébrale. To listen 

In this image, I saw a man attacked by some kind of tornado of I don't know what. I imagined it might have been a brain storm attack. Panicked, he struggles, flees, and runs along the wooden dock. He is attacked again, escapes once more, and reaches the end of the dock where calm returns and the sea appears before him.

 07- The sanctuary of iron horses. Le sanctuaire des chevaux d'acier..To listen  

Here I saw a train graveyard, and it reminded me of African elephants who, when they sense they are about to die, go to join their ancestors in their sanctuary. Incidentally, the trains were called "iron horses" by the Indians, hence the title.

08- Still alive. Encore vivante.To listen  

 I saw in this image a person emerging from the past. A ghost? Perhaps. In any case, she still seems very much present, hence the title "still alive".

  09- Windows on childhood Fenêtres sur enfance. To listen  

I wasn't very inspired this season, but here it is. Three windows, three different worlds. So it starts like a children's rhyme and..

  10- Chicago 1930's. To listen  
JI approached the subject like music for a scene from a film, from which the image has been extracted. It takes place in 1930s Chicago. A man approaches in a car, stops, gets out, drives to the location of his contract, carries it out, runs back, starts the engine, and flees. Later, the police chase him, there's an exchange of gunfire, and the outcome is fatal: an accident. I'm describing the scene, but I hope you'll hear it all for yourselves. I had a lot of fun creating the sound effects; the image is interesting.

  11- Phone call to future. Appel téléphonique du futur. To listen  

J'ai imaginé qu'une opératrice essayait de passer un appel téléphonique vers le futur. Ca commence en 1930 avec un swing puis cela avance vers le futur avec un rock symphonique des années 60 puis on avance encore, etc.. jusqu'à que la communication soit coupée.
